TEAM X Status Report - Day 1

Today we started thinking of ideas for our Team X project which is basically a project that simulates a rover landing. This is a competition where you need to drop an egg with whatever design you want so that the egg doesn’t break after 3 drop attempts. We only have a limited amount of money to use and only items our teacher lets us use.

Our group is formed up of 3 people, my two partners are Dori and Layan. Layan was absent the day we were thinking of ideas so me and Dori thought of a straw technique, where we build straws around the egg to shield it when it hits the ground. Today we finished thinking of ideas, calculating the sum of the cost, and finished designing on paper our prototype sketch. I think our biggest challenge would be to repair the straws because our straws are meant to break upon impact.

I think our goals for next class are to buy all the materials and start building our rover.

Chicken wing dessection

I don't think that dissecting a chicken wing was the best way to know the tissue, and know where it is. The reason I thought that it was not the best way was because you might not know if the tendon you are looking at is the same thing you think you are thinking about.
The good thing about doing it this way is you know what the tissue feels like and where it is located inside the chicken, i.e. how deep it is inside the chicken, etc.

When I grow up:

When I grow up, I think I am going to be a engineer.
The way I would get to my job is by a solar powered driverless car, which drives to the place that I set in the cars computer.
The house that I will have, a pretty big solar powered smart house, like in the movie home alone 4 will be awesome. The way the house will work is by having a remote key, which has a voice activated, so when I say open door the door will open.

The One and Only Ivan

Today we listened to the one and only Ivan by Katherine Applegate. What stands out to me is how the author wrote the book and made it sound, also the message of the book. I believe this because of the words and some of these pictures/words.
